Der Bocksbeutel started out in 1975 as a provider of Franconian wine in Hamburg and has since become one of the city centers’ (and wine lovers’) best kept secrets. The wine bar lays underneath the beautiful arches of Colonnaden Strasse, a stones throw away from the Binnenalster in the trendy Gänsemarkt area. The bar has a couple of wine barrels with red checkered table clothes as tables but other than that there is not much space, since it is always full! The prices are perfectly fair (4-7 euros per glass) and even more so once you see their generous portions (the 0,2 ml line is rarely respected – in a good way!). They also serve some small finger food for when the hunger (or the wine) hits.
